Lucy Tennyson has been working as a freelance writer, editor and designer for over ten years, setting up the Word Wright consultancy in 1990 and developing it into a successful business. She joined forces with Eye Division in 2002 in order to offer a complete writing and editorial service as part of a web-based package. After gaining a BSc in Environmental Sciences at the University of East Anglia and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Journalism from City University, Lucy worked as a journalist for local and national newspapers, radio and TV. Key roles during this period include news editor at the Bucks Free Press in High Wycombe, writer/sub-editor at The Oxford Mail and Times, sub-editor at the China Daily (Beijing), researcher for Channel 4's Garden Club for HTV, freelance writer and researcher for Radio 4 and Radio 210, and National Publicity Manager for BTCV (British Trust for Conservation Volunteers). She was co-ordinator of Oxfordshire Artweeks for three years. She has worked as a freelance writer and consultant for a wide range of organisations, including Oxford Brookes University, SkyePharma, the RSPB, Age Concern England, West Berkshire Council, and Thames Valley Police.
